Men’s haircuts in Oranjestad, Aruba
A haircut at Island Fades Elite starts before the clippers do. Your barber asks how you wear it, how it grew out last time, what annoyed you about the last cut — and then builds the cut to your head rather than pulling a template off a shelf. Scissor work, clipper work, or the mix that your hair actually needs.
Every haircut includes beard and eyebrow detailing to finish, because a sharp cut over an untidy line defeats the point. If your beard needs real work rather than a tidy-up, add a beard trim to the same appointment.
The shop runs on appointments, not queues. You book online, pick your barber — Jay, Alex, Dylan, Andres or Victor — pick your time, and the chair is yours for the full 45-minute slot. The exact price for your barber is shown before you confirm. No waiting room, no walking in to find three people ahead of you.
We're in Ponton, Oranjestad — a few minutes from the centre of town and a short drive from the hotel strips. Locals make up most of the chairs, but if you're visiting the island and need a proper cut rather than a gamble, see our guide for visitors.
After the cut, keeping it sharp is mostly about the neckline — which is why regulars rebook before they leave. If you're after our signature work, the fade page covers skin, low, mid and high in detail.
First time in the chair? The most useful things you can tell a barber are not technical: what you liked and hated about your last cut, how much time you give your hair in the morning, and whether you want to leave lower-maintenance or sharper. A photo helps but isn't required. From there the recommendation is your barber's job — and if what you're asking for won't suit your growth or your crown, they'll say so before cutting, not after.
Haircut questions, answered
How much is a haircut?
Prices vary slightly by barber. When you book online you pick your barber first, and the exact price is shown before you confirm - no surprises at the counter. Every haircut includes beard and eyebrow detailing.
How long does an appointment take?
A standard cut is a 45-minute appointment. That includes the consultation, the cut, beard and eyebrow detailing, and the finish - it's your chair for the full slot.
Do you cut all hair types?
Yes. Coarse, curly, straight, fine and Afro-textured hair all sit in our chairs daily. Aruba's a mixed island and our barbers cut for all of it.
Can I book for my kids too?
Yes - we have a dedicated Kids & Teen Cut for children through teenagers, and you can book yourself and your kids back-to-back online with the same details.
What if I need to cancel or move my appointment?
Your confirmation email has Reschedule and Cancel buttons that work up to 3 hours before your slot. Closer than that, call the shop. Late cancellations and no-shows carry a fee of Afl. 25.
